JOSH EARL
The versatile defender arrived on a three-and-a-half year deal from Fleetwood Town on February 1st 2024.
A 6'4" presence at the back, the Southport native began his career as a child with Preston North End and quickly rose to prominence.
He signed a pro deal at Deepdale at 18-years-old, soon making his debut in a 1-0 win over Reading. There followed a number of loan spells with the likes of Bolton Wanderers and Ipswich Town before becoming a regular with Preston during the 21-22 campaign.
With a change of manager, he left the club in 2022 and signed with Fleetwood where his performances earned him a move to Oakwell.
Able to play in the centre of defence or as a left back, Josh arrived in Barnsley on a long-term deal hoping to aid the Reds' promotion push.
