JORDAN WILLIAMS

Signed by the Reds in the summer of 2018, Jordan Williams was a product of the youth system at Huddersfield Town and following a successful spell with Bury on loan in the 2017/18 campaign, the defender was snapped up by Barnsley on a four-year deal.

The energetic full back grabbed his first Reds goal against Man City's U21 side in the 2018/19 Checkatrade Trophy campaign.

Forced his way into the first team on a regular basis as the Reds were promoted to the Championship in May of 2019 and won the battle for the right-back spot once back in the second tier, playing regularly under Gerhard Struber as the year came to a close.

Moved into numerous positions in defence, Williams' consistent performances continued as the Reds retained their second tier status.

After starring at the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign, Jordan was struck down by injury and had to be patient upon his return in the new year. But whenever called upon, he impressed, particularly so in the play-off semi-final at Swansea City.

Now one of the Reds' most experienced players, Jordan was once again in decent form before yet another injury curtailed his 2021/22 season, having to watch on as Barnsley dropped into the third tier.

Back in Sky Bet League One, Williams shone brightly and for the first time in five years at the club, played week in, week out, remaining clear of injury and helping Barnsley make the end-of-season Play-Offs.
