SAM COSGROVE LOOKS AHEAD TO CARLISLE CLASH

11 March 2024

Sam Cosgrove previewed Tuesday night's clash with Carlisle United for the media.

SATURDAY REFLECTIONS

"Disappointing, extremely disappointing. I don't think anyone in the Club or anyone involved in the Club will have expected that. On the day we weren't good enough and we got heavily punished for that. Luckily, we've got a game tomorrow. Games come thick and fast and that's probably the best thing for us. All eyes on Carlisle."

ON BUSINESS END OF THE SEASON

"There are teams scrapping for their lives, there are teams scrapping to get into the play-offs for promotion. Business end of the season. If other teams can find that extra gear to play against us then we can find that extra gear ourselves. From the way that we've been playing recently and the conversations that we're having within the group, there's definitely more to come from us as a group and the motivation is more than there for us."

ON CARLISLE UNITED

"They're at the bottom of the table, they're fighting for their lives, fighting for their status in the league. But, as I mentioned, there are no bad teams in this league. There are no easy games, especially going up there on a Tuesday night, it's going to be tough. We'll be at it and learn from Saturday. I'm sure you'll see a reaction from the team."

ON SPELL AT CARLISLE

"From a personal point of view, I'm very grateful for the opportunities that I got from everyone involved at the club. I'm looking forward to going back there, it's probably the first time I'm going back there since I left. Hopefully a good reception and hopefully get the result there."
